Turbulence is a personal assistant for work: it reads what you connect (Slack, email, calendar, meeting notes, documents), keeps track of what you and your team owe each other, and acts for you when you approve it. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. "Turbulence", "we" and "us" mean Turbulence Labs.

The short version. We only read what you connect, only to work for you. We don't sell your data, don't show ads, and don't use your data to train AI models. Messages and emails to other people go from your own accounts, and only when you approve them, or for the to-dos you track and the meeting agendas you run, under the rules you set. You can disconnect any integration at any time.

1. What we collect

Account information

Your name, work email, Slack user and workspace, time zone and language, taken from Slack and Google when you sign in, and the settings you choose in Turbulence.

Content from the services you connect

Turbulence only reads a service after you connect it, and you can disconnect it whenever you want.

ServiceWhat Turbulence readsWhat Turbulence can do, and when
SlackMessages that mention you, your direct messages, and the threads behind your to-dos; your workspace's member list.Send messages from your own account (follow-ups, agenda questions, replies you approve), after you allow "sending as you".
GmailRecent inbox messages (sender, subject, a preview and, when needed, the thread), emails you sent that are waiting for an answer, and a sample of your sent emails to learn how you write.Send replies, forwards and new emails from your account, only when you press Send or approve them, or when you've turned on a meeting agenda that sends them.
Google CalendarYour events for the past and coming weeks: titles, times, attendees, descriptions and video links.Create, move, cancel or answer invites, only after you approve each change.
Google DriveRecent activity on files shared with you or that you own (names and comments, not file contents).Share a file with a colleague, only after you approve their request.
NotionPages, docs and databases you ask about.Create meeting agenda pages and add to them; create pages you approve. Never deletes, moves or archives anything.
Stilla (note taker)Notes and transcripts of your meetings.Nothing: read only.
WhatsAppMessages you send to Turbulence's number, once you link it.Answer you there.

You can connect more than one Google account. Each one is read and used the same way.

What you give Turbulence directly

What you write or say in the Assistant, voice notes, documents and images you upload, meeting templates, agenda points and to-dos you add.

About other people

Working for you means handling information about the people you work with: their names, Slack profiles, email addresses, what they wrote to you, and the to-dos and agenda answers involving them. We use it only to provide Turbulence to you and your workspace.

Technical data

Basic logs (requests, errors, timings) to keep the service running and secure. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers. The portal uses one session cookie to keep you signed in.

2. How we use it

We don't sell personal data, use it for advertising, or build profiles for anyone else. We don't use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider doesn't either (see below).

3. AI processing

To read, summarise, write and decide what needs you, Turbulence sends the relevant content to Anthropic's Claude models through Anthropic's commercial API. Anthropic processes it on our behalf to return a response. Under its commercial terms it doesn't train models on this data, and it keeps API data only for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring. AI output can be wrong: anything that leaves your accounts is shown to you first, or goes out only under rules you set up.

4. Google user data

Turbulence's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

5. Who processes data for us

Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

6. Security

Access tokens for your connected services, and stored content such as chats, meeting notes and agenda answers, are encrypted at rest. Data travels over encrypted connections. Access to production systems is limited to the people who run Turbulence. No system is perfectly secure: if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you as the law requires.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data while you use Turbulence. Disconnecting an integration deletes its access tokens straight away, and Turbulence stops reading it. Completed to-dos stop showing after a short time. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except what we must keep by law. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

8. Your rights and choices

The legal bases for this processing are providing the service you or your company signed up for (contract), and our legitimate interest in running it securely. When your company sets up Turbulence for its workspace, it may be the controller of workspace data, with us processing it on its behalf.

9. Children

Turbulence is a work tool and isn't meant for anyone under 16.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If the change is significant, we'll tell you in Turbulence before it applies.

11. Contact

For questions or requests about your data: write to us from Turbulence's Home tab in Slack.
